Hardware-wiki collects notes on PC and laptop hardware: specifications, upgrades, and the fixes that actually worked. It runs on MediaWiki and is written by the people who read it. One person administers it, privately; there is no company and no advertising behind the site.
Editing is open and needs no account. Every edit goes into the page history with the name you signed it with, or unsigned if you gave none, and can be read and undone by anybody. Undoing an edit adds a revision; it does not take the old one out of the history.
What belongs on a page
- Write from what you have done or measured, and say which board revision, BIOS version or chip stepping you tested.
- Link manufacturers' manuals and datasheets rather than pasting them in whole; quote the part that matters.
- Resale listings, referral links and shop advertising are reverted on sight.
